Noma

The landscape in front of restaurant Noma is inspired by the Nordic terroir – like the Nordic gastronomy of the restaurant. Sturdy, evergreen plants are imported from all over Scandinavia, along with lava stones from Iceland that refer to North Atlantic coastal landscapes. Noma’s new landscape has been carved directly out of the harbour’s raw concrete that surrounds the 18th century old warehouse in which the restaurant is housed.

The project won the prize for “Landscape 2014” in the world’s largest architecture programme WAN Awards.
